Read more: Mother of God is portrayed in half-length. In her left arm she holds the infant Christ and with her right she points to Him. She is dressed in dark red maphorion boarded with a gold band. Christ is giving a blessing with His right hand and in His left holds a scroll. In the 16th century the Slepce Monastery together with the churches and monasteries in its vicinity was becoming one of the most important painting and copyist in Macedonia on account of its geographical location and its distance from the main roads. A very large number of important works by Macedonian painters, wood-carvers and copyists of liturgical books were produced there.

There is no precise data about the exact time of construction of the church and the establishment of the monastery. Some sources indicate that the church has been built in year 1010 and by other in 1393 year.
